Monique Ruchkall

ruchkall headshot Monique has obtained her diploma in natural nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2002.  She has attended the Wild Rose College and has taken western herbology along with other courses and it’s there that she discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and decided to change her education and pursue acupuncture.  Seeing the benefits from herself and her immediate family that convinced her the reliability of this ancient practice (over 3000 years).

She has obtained her diplomas in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) in Calgary in 2006.  She has completed her practicum at the Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China in 2006.

She has been practicing ever since and she is appreciative having the knowledge that her education coincides with the education in China.  Acupuncture is stringently regulated in Alberta and she is a registered acupuncturist in good standing with the governing body of College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA).

Monique has now been training the Balance Method Acupuncture (BM) founded by Dr. Richard Tan and taught by Dr. Eileen Han.  BM is acupuncture that focuses on distal points (points away from the site of pain or problem).  Monique uses different techniques along with acupuncture including auricular medicine (ear seeds), sometimes she will use Gua Sha and Cupping but her main focus is BM Acupuncture. She has also been trained in Qi Beauty technique which is a facial treatment using gold magnetic beads instead of using needles.

Each year she takes professional continue education courses to brush up on education and has taken auricular medicine and medical qi gong to name a few. She is now certified to treat clients with Qi Beauty which are gold magnetic beads that help treat cosmetically and medically without the use of acupuncture needles.  Check out their website at www.qibeauty.ca.  Most recent courses she is taking and gaining more expertise in is Abdominal Acupuncture and Balance Method Acupuncture.

She has been practicing acupuncture since 2007 and has been successful in treating many conditions from musculoskeletal pain, menstrual problems, headaches and migraines to name a few and many other conditions that the WHO recognizes as acupuncture being helpful in treating.
